    Job Description

    The Lead Test Technician position is responsible for the oversight and performance of product test activities. Duties include:

     

    + Equipment and personnel resource planning

    + Equipment PM, repair and calibration coordination

    + Technical problem resolution and troubleshooting

    + Test documentation, set-up and performance

    + Standard practices, corrective action and improvement implementation

    + Test technician skill development

     

    Primary responsibilities focus on scheduling and oversight of the test facilities and personnel. The lead tech ensures that testing is performed in accordance with written procedures and test data generated is accurate and in accordance with format and content requirements.

    Requirements:

    Education: High School Diploma (Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).

     

    Experience: A minimum of 5 years total of technician experience and 3 years in the applicable test discipline with demonstrated understanding of the test processes and equipment.

    Required Skills:

    + Ability to work independently and interface with all levels of the organization.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude

    + Demonstrated ability to problem solve, communicate and plan.

    + Knowledge of explosive materials and ordnance devices.

    + Experience in a test lab environment with exposure to a number of the following areas:

     

    Testing

     

    + Thermal Conditioning

    + Thermotron 8200 Controllers

    + Watlow F4 Controllers

    + Pyro-technic Shock Methods

    + Mechanical Shock Methods

    + SRS analysis and Interpretation

     

    Instrumentation

     

    + Accelerometers

    + Thermocouples

    + Cabling, Attachment and Strain Relief

    + Fluke Calibrators

     

    Software

     

    + Microsoft Office Programs

    + Vibration View Software
