Position Summary
The Intern position requires an individual who is responsible, organized, and versatile. Having computer skills, and a willingness to learn. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a plus. This program is intended to expose the intern to a variety of skills needed to be successful in the criminal justice field.
Interns will have the opportunity to choose an area of focus to spend most of their hours once all areas have been observed. This area of focus will be concentrated on for the remainder of the internship to allow interns to explore areas of interest in depth.
Expected outcomes for the intern: Familiarity with Community Corrections and the function/daily operations of each department by the end of the internship experience. The intern will be familiar with the goals and purpose of the agency, as well as roles of each position within the agency. Interns will gain a general understanding of all departments, as well as an advanced understanding of one department of their choosing.

Position Responsibilities
+ Assist staff with and observe day-to-day functions. Areas include but are not limited to: Security, Case management, Operations, Processing, Court, and Programming.
+ Assisting in administrative and client-facing tasks and other tasks as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
+ All functions are carried out under the supervision of a seasoned staff member and/or the supervisor of the Component.
+ Additional assistance, if needed, may come from Deputy Directors within the agency and/or additional Supervisors within the agency.
+ Agency hours for interns are determined based on availability.
+ Your internship schedule will be based around your class schedule. We will work with interns throughout the year.
+ Our agency observes major holidays each calendar year.
+ The internship position is an unpaid position.
+ The intern would be expected to work at least 8 hours each week.
Qualifications
Any conviction of a misdemeanor or felony must be disclosed prior to beginning an internship with MCCC. All persons with a criminal conviction will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
