NewsNation is a national news cable network currently reaching 75+ million television households across the United States. The network is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group (NXST). NewsNation is seeking an IT Specialist to join our Washington, DC based engineering department. This position will support broadcast, production, and office environments. The ideal candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure and be solution-oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a critical component of this role
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
• Installation and maintenance of information technology systems within a television broadcast environment.
• Experience with multiple operating systems including Microsoft, MAC OS, and Linux platforms.
• Proficient in the use and support of various application software suites.
• Possess thorough general computer skills.
• Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting abilities for IT-related issues.
• Apply strong problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to diagnose and address system problems.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications is a plus.
• Comfortable working with IP protocol networking, domain configurations, and routing.
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper IOS is desired.
• Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies is helpful.
• Understanding of Video over IP and Voice over IP (VOIP) technologies is helpful.
- Salary Range: $62,000 - $70,000 Annualized
