Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Job Summary
Serve as the subject matter expert for accreditation and licensing regulatory compliance within Specialty and Community Pharmacy Services.

Responsibilities*
+ Engage with state regulatory bodies to initiate and maintain pharmacy licensure.
+ Serve as the point of contact for the State of Michigan Licensing & Regulatory Affairs (LARA) for surveys, site visits, inquiries, etc.
+ Serve as expert consultant in questions of accreditation and compliance requirements.
+ Apply for new accreditation and licensure as well as renewals.
+ Develop and maintain expertise in requirements of licensure for pharmacies, pharmacists, and technicians in all states served by our community and specialty pharmacies.
+ Maintain awareness and lead implementation of tools and systems to be used for regulatory compliance (databases, bulletins, Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) checklists, and other resources).
+ Serve as primary contact/liaison for onsite and virtual accreditation or regulatory visits, and create and coordinate the schedule.
+ Create, revise, and review policies and procedures related to accreditation (for example ACHC and URAC)
+ Conduct and submit data validation for accreditation requirements.
+ Create and coordinate completion of action plan in response to regulatory requirements changes and findings of risk or non-compliance.
+ Conduct necessary audits and routine reviews of community & specialty pharmacies.
+ Develop and ensure training of staff on applicable regulatory and accreditation standards to ensure compliance.
+ Develop, update, and audit policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
+ The scope of this work will often be inclusive of the growing UMH Enterprise
+ Lead and serve on applicable committees.
Required Qualifications*
+ Bachelor's Degree and considerable professional experience is normally required
+ Prior experience demonstrated in a team environment with consensus building, change management, and quality improvement
+ Strong leadership ability, excellent written, and verbal communication skills (fluency in writing, reading and speaking English)
+ Practical knowledge and capability using basic computing programs (word processing, forms, spreadsheets, e-mail, slide shows, etc.)
+ Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
+ Ability to speak on a one-on-one basis using appropriate professional communication to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and influence others
+ Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
+ Ability to set priorities, which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
+ Ability to perform a variety of manual dexterity movements (i.e., keyboard data entry)
Desired Qualifications*
+ Prior experience practicing in contemporary/specialty pharmacy within a health system or other high volume pharmacy.
+ Prior experience at a pharmacy that services patients located in multiple states
+ Prior experience with specialty pharmacy accreditation (ACHA, TJC, URAC)
+ Prior experience with regulatory oversight, quality assurance, policy writing, and participation in accreditation/inspection site visits
+ Prior experience with Joint Commission accreditation, regulatory management, policy writing, compliance auditing, and/or quality improvement initiatives
+ Thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and laws pertaining to preparation, storage, procurement, use, and disposal of medications in the practice of pharmacy in Michigan

Background Screening
