    Description:

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Performs various tasks associated with the safe and efficient shipping operations, including loading, unloading barges on the evening shift. Provides leadership, prioritizing and delegating work, especially in absence of the Shipping Supervisor.

     

    This is a night shift position.

    WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

    + Manages shipping operations, including loading and unloading barges

    + Directs daily work, ensuring employees have proper ppe, tools and equipment.

    + Fosters a positive work environment through mentoring and training, promoting team culture.

    + Implements best practices and maintenance programs to optimize shipping activities, maximize uptime, and control costs.

    + Maintains accurate paperwork and records for all shipping operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

    + Coordinates with captains and crew to ensure timely delivery schedules are met.

    + Ensures employee task training and strict adherence to safety rules and company policies.

    + Utilizes maintenance programs to maximize plant up-time and manage costs.

    + Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    **Education:** Bachelor's Degree or related industry experience

    **Required Work Experience:** Related experience and/or training to include working in river shipping operations, marine logistics or related field.

    Additional Requirements:

    + Effective verbal and written communications skills.

    + Basic computer skills, to include Microsoft Office preferred.

    + Valid driver’s license is required.

    + MSHA certification preferred

    + Experience leading, delegating work, training and supporting a team

    + Plant/Preventative maintenance safety preferred

    + Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
