Description

Our client is an established, nationally recognized transportation‑focused practice representing airlines, aerospace companies, surface transportation entities, and their insurers in catastrophic personal‑injury and commercial disputes. They are looking to add a Senior Personal Injury Litigation Associate to their team.

The Opportunity

+ Role: Senior Litigation Attorney (open to Partner‑level attorneys or Senior Associates ready for the next step)

+ Team leadership: Take day‑to‑day responsibility for a group of four associates—setting strategy, reviewing work product, and developing talent.

+ Autonomy: Lead cases from investigation through trial and appeal with minimal supervision, initially collaborating with the current practice head before taking the reins.

+ Matters: Complex personal‑injury defense (aviation, trucking, products) with a mix of commercial litigation and regulatory issues involving federal transportation statutes and regulations.

+ Clients: Predominantly self‑insured corporations and leading insurers in the transportation, aviation, and aerospace sectors.

What You’ll Do

+ Direct all phases of high‑exposure personal‑injury and commercial transportation cases in state, federal, and international forums.

+ Mentor and supervise associates, fostering professional growth and ensuring consistent, top‑tier work product.

+ Collaborate with regulatory and transactional colleagues on cross‑disciplinary projects involving compliance, insurance coverage, tax, and commercial contracts.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

+ Experience: 10+ years of litigation practice, with significant first‑chair or lead‑associate work on personal‑injury defense matters; aviation or other transportation context highly preferred.

+ Leadership: Demonstrated success supervising or mentoring attorneys and managing case teams.

+ Skill set: Excellent brief‑writing, deposition, and courtroom advocacy skills; comfort with complex technical issues and federal regulations.

+ Background: Prior work with insurance‑defense or self‑insured clients is a plus; commercial litigation experience (contracts, business torts) also valued.

+ License: Admission to practice in New York (and New Jersey, preferred); ability to waive into additional states is welcomed.
