Position Overview**Up to $15k Sign-On Bonus**

United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring a Staff Registered Nurse, Orthopedics to join our team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. The Orthopedic unit is a steady, collaborative environment. Dealing with a range of orthopedic surgeries, there’s always something new coming in!

Compensation Range:

$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule:

Multiple shifts available

8 hour shifts; Monday – Friday, every 3rd Weekend.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

+ Admit and prep patients for orthopedic procedures

+ Keeping a close eye on vital signs and responding when needed

+ Administering medications and providing pain management

+ Discharging patients post procedure

Qualifications:

+ A valid RN license

+ Bedside nursing experience

+ ACLS preferred

+ Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

+ A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

+ Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

+ Current NYS RN License

Preferred:

+ Professional certification in a related nursing specialty

+ Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

+ Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.

+ Rooms are air conditioned and heated.

+ Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.

+ Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

+ Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

+ PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies
