SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare supply chain operations. Under the guidance of executive and departmental leadership, the intern will work on projects that enhance supply chain efficiency, support operational improvements, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. The role offers exposure to inventory management, procurement processes, logistics, and supplier relations in a healthcare environment.
Summer Internship position that is expected to last until mid August
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES** : The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
+ Conduct business professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
+ Define specific project objectives aligned with agreed-upon goals.
+ Participate in rounding with supply chain leadership to gain insight into hospital supply chain operations. Assist in evaluating and optimizing procurement, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure the availability of critical medical supplies.
+ Support data analysis initiatives to improve supply utilization and cost efficiency.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including nursing, finance, and operations, to enhance supply chain workflows.
+ Gain exposure to supply chain compliance and regulatory requirements in a healthcare setting.
+ Present findings and recommendations from the capstone project to the Supply Chain Leadership Team and key stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Current sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in Supply Chain or a related field.
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
+ Strong commitment to making a direct impact on hospital supply chain operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
+ Leadership experience and involvement in extracurricular activities.
+ Local candidates preferred.
+ Experience in financial and data analysis.
+ Interest in healthcare supply chain management, logistics, or procurement.
