**UW Medicine Insurance Eligibility and Financial Counseling Services Team (IECS)** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Financial Counselor Supervisor** .
WORK SCHEDULE
+ 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
+ Mondays - Fridays; 8:00am-4:30pm
+ Day Shift
+ Hybrid after a 6 month probation period **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:**
+ **This is an onsite position for the first 6 months, with potential for transitioning to hybrid work schedule upon successful completion of the probationary period.**
+ Primarily based at Montlake Hospital with regular travel to Northwest Hospital.
+ Supervises the Insurance Eligibility & Counseling Services (IECS), referred to as Financial Counseling, supporting uninsured and underinsured patients across UW Medicine locations, including Montlake, Northwest, Harborview Primary Care at Hobson Place, Pioneer Square Clinic, and Mental Health & Addiction Services at Harborview. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Lead recruitment efforts: review resumes, interview candidates, conduct reference checks, and recommend hires
+ Train, mentor, and support the development of new staff
+ Set clear productivity standards and expectations for direct reports
+ Manage daily staffing and assignments to ensure operational coverage
+ Monitor performance, provide feedback, and complete annual evaluations
+ Implement corrective actions and performance improvement plans when needed
+ Hold regular team huddles and meetings to support operations and drive improvements
+ Manage time off, leave requests, and timecard approvals in line with union contracts and policies
+ Communicate changes in insurance and assistance program eligibility; help resolve complex enrollment issues
+ Address and resolve patient and customer complaints effectively
+ Represent and promote UW Medicine values, policies, and serve as a positive change agent
+ Participate in trainings, interdepartmental meetings, improvement projects, and support policy and procedure development **REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field
+ Four years of experience as a Financial Access Specialist
