Generalist, People Operations & Employee Experience

Under the direction of the Director of People Operations (POps) & Employee Experience (EX) the Generalist of People Operations and Employee Experience provides support for the full spectrum of HR functions with an emphasis on talent acquisition and day-to-day people operations. The incumbent in this position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition, onboarding, benefit administration, employee record/HRIS maintenance, offboarding, payroll administration, and compliance and reporting. The Generalist will also contribute to and assist the larger Organizational Enablement team with special projects, such as employee training and development programs, employer branding, rewards and recognition programs, and other organizational development initiatives. The generalist must have exceptional prioritization and organizational skills, the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, and have diligent follow-through skills.
What you’ll bring to the job:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management (or related field, i.e. business administration) and or 3-5 years of work experience in a Human Resources role with working experience in benefits and compensation administration, talent acquisition and performance management with a thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
+ Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems preferred
+ Proficiency in MS Office products, Excel, Word, and Power Point, Outlook
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
+ Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
+ Ability to provide professional knowledge and principles of the HR function to solve problems requiring the identification and analysis of non-routine factors; uses independent judgment and discretion to recommend best course of action
+ Must have a sense of urgency be self-motivated and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness with a strong focus on accuracy and results

What you’ll own:
Talent Acquisition, New Hire Onboarding, and Offboarding
+ In collaboration with the Director, POps & EX, the generalist will maintain the overall management of the recruitment and selection process, including facilitating open position job analysis meetings with hiring managers, finalizing job descriptions, interviewing candidates, and drafting and communicating approved offers of employment.
+ Establish a strong rapport with hiring managers and provide counsel for candidates.
+ In collaboration with the Director, develop innovative recruiting strategies to target and attract an extensive candidate pool.
+ Ensure that hiring practices are innovative, inclusive, and congruent with employment laws and regulations.
+ Collaborate with the HR team to market and brand Endocrine Society as an employer of choice.
+ In collaboration with the Director, the generalist will strategize, fulfill, and execute programs to onboard and train new employees including conducting new hire onboarding for benefits, payroll orientation, and general organizational policies and practices.
+ Maintain and generate recruiting reports and dashboards (conversion rates, turnover reports, etc.) for internal analysis
+ Actively source candidates via LinkedIn and via other recruitment tools and sources
+ Administer and track completion of background checks and references; review and assess information received
+ Manage pre-boarding communications, enter new hire employment data in HRIS, and launch employee onboarding self-service wizard; track completion of self-service items to include personal information, I-9 authorization, federal and state tax withholdings, direct deposit information, and HR policy acknowledgements
+ Coordinate termination procedures with the Director of POps & EX, IT, Office Operations, and the supervisor.
Benefits Administration
+ Serve as a secondary point of contact for all employee benefit-related issues and questions
+ Administer annual benefit open enrollment wizard in Paycor and coordinate benefits.
+ Process ancillary benefit forms tracked outside of HRIS, such as WMATA, WageWorks, building parking, 403(b), and Fringe
+ Administer WMATA, COBRA, and Flexible Spending Account programs
+ Maintain benefit brochure materials used to effectively tell our total rewards story to both internal and external audiences
+ Maintain accessibility of summary plan descriptions, annual notices, and communication materials related to all benefit programs to include HR documentation requirements and distributing materials to staff via the Endocrine Society’s intranet
+ Assist Director, POps & EX with open enrollment election audits and general annual benefit audits (e.g., mid-year and non-discrimination testing) as needed
Reporting and Compliance
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal employment laws and compliance
+ Maintain I-9 Form compliance as required by law
+ Maintain and enforce HR record retention policy and practices
+ In collaboration with the Director, manage payroll vendor, payroll procedures, and maintain internal schedules for all voluntary deductions.
OTHER DUTIES
+ Ensures accuracy, quality, timeliness, and responsiveness of products, services, and activities assigned
+ Maintain and update confidential organizational charts as needed.
+ Support staff survey build out and deployment as needed.
+ Administer and track trainings and compile progress reports.
+ Collaborates with other functions, departments, teams, and individuals to achieve HR business objectives.
+ Assist in managing Predictive Index and EverFi vendor relationships, upgrades and annual cost tracking for the Chief People Officer’s (CPO) budget

Work Location:
This position is located in Washington, DC and walking distance to Metro and major bus lines. The Endocrine Society offers a flexible, hybrid work environment. Employees are expected to work from the office at least 2 days per week to foster our collaborative culture and support cross-functional interaction.
