    This position has primary responsibility for interpreting, executing, and establishing global trade policies and processes for the customs function. You will ensure consistency of customs practices and guidance to operations sites importing across the Strategic Business Unit globally. You will support customs operations and be encouraged to take on leadership roles within the customs function across the SBU (Advanced Structures), Collins Aerospace, and Raytheon Technologies cross-company initiatives. You will analyze data and operations as well as strategize to ensure optimal US duty mitigation program usage, focusing on Free Trade Agreements, including USMCA, and the US Foreign-Trade Zones program.

     

    The ideal candidate will work hybrid to our Chula Vista, CA location though we are open to considering candidates to be based at other US locations or offering a remote option.

    What You Will Do:

    + Support for daily tactical customs processes

    + Analysis of customs data to strategically address customs trends, tariff impact and duty mitigation programs

    + Coordinate and oversee free trade agreement qualification process

    + Review bills of materials to support in free trade agreement qualification analysis

    + Perform customs and import auditing

    + Assist with strategic program management of customs initiatives across the business unit’s global sites ensuring alignment with Collins Aerospace

    + Develop, support, implement customs related initiatives

    + Assist Customs Manager and Customs team on projects, tactical activities, strategic activities, training, and other customs activities as needed

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

    + U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

    + Experience with US customs, import regulations

    + Experience with USMCA Free Trade Agreement

    + Experience with US Foreign-Trade Zones

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Hybrid work to Chula Vista, CA

    + 5 years customs experience, preferably in the aerospace industry

    + Experience with SAP/GTS or other ERP application

    + Experience performing free trade agreement qualification analysis

    + Export regulations experience

    **Remote:** Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. _*Position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role._

     

    The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
