Description
We’re partnering with a growing construction company in the West Metro in their search for a skilled Payroll/HR Specialist. In this role, you will oversee weekly union and non-union payroll processing, ensuring compliance with union agreements, government regulations, and company policies. Additionally, you will contribute to human resources functions such as onboarding and benefits administration.
Responsibilities:
• Process and review weekly payroll entries for both union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Manage and maintain payroll records, including employee documents and reports.
• Handle wage garnishments and deductions, and report them to the appropriate agencies.
• Prepare certified payroll reports and submit them to relevant authorities as required.
• Compute and process weekly 401(k) and profit-sharing deductions.
• Register and set up withholding and unemployment accounts in new states.
• Assist with human resources functions, including employee onboarding, background checks, and benefits enrollment.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, project leaders, and external agencies.
• Collaborate with team members to support additional payroll and HR activities as needed.
Requirements
• Minimum of two years of experience in union payroll, preferably within the construction industry.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or Business Management is preferred.
• Solid understanding of union contracts, collective bargaining agreements, and certified payroll reporting.
• Proficiency with payroll software, with experience in Sage 100 considered a plus.
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with a detail-oriented approach and critical thinking.
• Willingness to assist with human resources duties, including onboarding and benefits administration.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Salary & Benefits:
• Salary range for this position is $65-80K
• Full benefit package (medical, dental, vision)
• 2 weeks PTO + paid holidays
