Summary
Oversee daily operations of the ambulance service under medical control from the hospital Emergency Department.
Key responsibilities include staff scheduling, training, recruitment, equipment maintenance, acquisition, budget oversight and ensuring compliance with State Ambulance Licensure. As a working manager, lead by example, mentor staff, and provide hands-on support during high-volume, high-acuity, or emergency call-in situations until reinforcements arrive. Collaborate with hospital staff, regional EMS, fire, and law enforcement to ensure seamless emergency response. Monitor service quality, response times, and patient outcomes to uphold standards. Engage with the community to promote the service and address local needs. Utilize dispatch software, EHR, and reporting systems for operational efficiency and compliance. Requires adaptability to manage crises, strong problem-solving, and sensitivity to the rural Minnesota context. Stay current on EMS regulations and foster a culture of professional development.

Manages service recovery as well as written and verbal communication from team towards all internal and external customers. Uses service framework in alignment with organizational directives.
+ Growth and Facilities: Drives revenue increases and improves efficiency to reduce expenses. Uses systems thinking and collaboratively provides for and supports the marketing of the department and organization. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and compliance with all regulations set by external regulatory agencies and internal policies. Manages self and is flexible and able to quickly adapt to and lead change.
+ Finance: Demonstrates the ability to plan, execute and monitor departmental financial functions. Prepares and manages budget, resources and assets. Measures and monitors the success metrics for the assigned department.

Supports the mission, vision and demonstrates the values of the organization. Builds trust and cultivates relationships both ethically and professionally. Required Education and Experience
+ Paramedic licensed by NREMT and EMSRB
+ Must have a clear Minnesota Driver's license.
+ 3 plus years of supervisory experience.
+ 5 years' experience as an EMT or Paramedic.
+ Must have familiarity with NREMT and EMSRB regulations.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ AHA BLS and or ACLS Instructor

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Exempt 40 hours per week and may require some flexibility with evening and weekend oversight of the department.
Supervisory Responsibility Supervises all ambulance personnel.
