St. Mary’s Healthcare is actively seeking a Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon to join our growing Orthopedic Surgery team in Amsterdam, NY. As part of our collaborative surgical department, you’ll work alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver expert care to a diverse patient population, including athletes and active individuals. Position Highlights:

+ Full-time, hospital-employed role with a growing sports medicine and orthopedic program.

+ Work alongside fellowship-trained orthopedic specialists in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

+ Diverse caseload including arthroscopy, minimally invasive procedures, and complex sports injuries.

+ State-of-the-art facilities with access to advanced imaging, rehabilitation services, and athletic partnerships.

+ Strong referral base from primary care, athletic programs, and area sports teams.

Responsibilities:

+ Diagnose and treat a full spectrum of sports-related injuries, including ligament tears, fractures, dislocations, and overuse injuries.

+ Perform arthroscopic, reconstructive, and minimally invasive procedures to restore function and mobility.

+ Develop personalized rehabilitation and treatment plans in collaboration with physical therapists and sports medicine specialists.

+ Provide comprehensive non-operative treatment options, including injections, regenerative medicine, and physical therapy referrals.

+ Educate athletes, coaches, and families on injury prevention strategies and recovery protocols.

+ Serve as a trusted medical resource for local sports teams, schools, and athletic organizations.

+ Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to best practices in surgical and non-surgical sports medicine.

+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research as applicable.

Qualifications:

Required Credentials - Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York

Preferred Credentials - Experience with robotics and advanced arthroscopic techniques preferred.

Education - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution

Compensation & Benefits:

+ Base Salary Range - $605,124 - $795,484 (commensurate with experience).
