Quality Control Manager opportunity at Triad Fabricators
Triad Fabricators, based in Evansville, Indiana, was formed by consolidating three legacy fabrication shops; Traylor Bros. (founded in 1946), Sterling Industrial (founded in 1982), and Traylor Industrial (founded in 1984).
Our focus is fabrication, which is what we do best, but as part of the Traylor Construction Group, we have the resources to see any project through from concept to completion. With both domestic and international experience, Triad has proven ability on a global scale.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Plan and managing QA/QC functions and technical support staff.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
+ Lead quality inspections of fabricated products onsite and at subcontractor locations
+ Manage the quality team and quality management system
+ Set and monitor quality standards based on project specs and fabrication processes
+ Ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications
+ Prepare quality and progress reports; maintain inspection and testing records
+ Monitor quality practices for effectiveness, cost, and productivity
+ Provide expertise during bidding, construction, and post-construction phases
+ Identify non-conformities, investigate root causes, and ensure corrective actions
+ Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
+ Develop and deliver training on quality standards and procedures
+ Travel as needed for site visits, meetings, and training
Skills and Abilities
+ Problem solving and decision-making skills; attention to detail a must
+ Strong organizational and time management skills
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills; including effective listening skills
+ Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
+ Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Procore
Education/Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree or related field required
+ Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Manager required
+ AWS D1.5/D1.5M experience, working for USACE or similar projects preferred
+ Extensive Knowledge and expertise in nondestructive testing (NDT) required
+ American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Physical Demands
+ Travel will be required to attend training and meeting
+ Ability to sit or stand for entire shift
+ Occasionally requited to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb
+ Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds
+ Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly
