Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist on a contract basis in Marietta, Georgia. This role involves managing critical accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance tasks, while contributing to the smooth operation of our financial systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform reconciliations for multiple active bank accounts and ensure credit card transactions are accurately posted and balanced.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring the proper classification of transactions and adherence to accounting standards.

• Assist with filing personal property taxes and maintaining compliance with business licensing requirements.

• Utilize Acumatica or similar accounting systems to manage and streamline financial operations.

• Collaborate with other departments to support accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and financial reviews.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data to ensure integrity and compliance.

• Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.

• Provide support in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a preference for small business experience.

• Proficiency in Acumatica or comparable accounting software systems such as QuickBooks.

• Familiarity with local tax filings and business licensing processes.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles.

• Attention to detail and a high level of reliability in handling financial data.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

• Ability to work onsite in Marietta, Georgia.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
