    Scope of Position:

    The maintenance manager is responsible for directing plant maintenance activities. Provide direction to the maintenance team in maintenance of production equipment in a manner that ensures employee safety, product safety, and quality and compliance to production schedules. This position will also manage all maintenance costs for the plant.

    Responsibilities:

    + Overall owner of maintenance KPI’s

    + Coordinates the development of RCA’s and action plans to solve problems and make improvements

    + Assist the Business Development & Engineering team in establishing and executing capital budgets

    + Ensure team member safety through training and completion/tracking of safety work orders

    + Ensure food safety & quality as it relates to plant maintenance activities and programs

    + Responsible for plant schedule attainment as it relates to plant maintenance activities and programs

    + Deliver cost KPI’s including MRO inventory & plant maintenance costs

    + Oversee measurement, tracking and planning for safety, quality, repair and preventative maintenance programs

    + Set the maintenance culture for the plant and uphold JBS values

    + Work closely with the plant manager and maintenance director

    + Monitor and analyze maintenance down time to improve production up time as efficiently as possible

    + Manage, develop and maintain programs for hiring, training & professional development for the maintenance team

    + Manage, develop and maintain vendor support to ensure the most cost-effective solutions

    + Make recommendations to the leadership team to improve the maintenance function

    + Travel when needed

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of maintenance management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

    + 5+ years maintenance experience with a consumer-packaged goods food plant, food manufacturing equipment, specifically sliced meat processing

    + Experience with repair and maintenance of food manufacturing equipment, specifically sliced meat processing

    + Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and PSM programs

    + PC / software skills including CAD.

    + As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    + Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.

    + Office and plant setting: the plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical parts

    + Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
