Description
We are looking for a dedicated Corporate Compliance Specialist to join our client's team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining compliance programs, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and fostering a culture of integrity within the organization. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for ethical practices.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain compliance programs to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Research compliance laws and trends to create effective policies and procedures.
• Respond to inquiries about compliance policies and provide expert guidance.
• Organize and deliver training sessions while preparing documentation to support compliance initiatives.
• Manage projects related to compliance, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed.
• Administer technologies supporting compliance programs used across the organization.
• Generate reports and visual data representations using tools like Excel to monitor compliance metrics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address compliance violations and mitigate risks.
• Continuously improve compliance programs through consultation and innovative solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; business, public administration or specific subject matter for compliance (e.g. law, risk management, audit, food or product safety, healthcare, environmental health and safety)
• 3+ years of experience in a compliance or licensing function for a retailer or regulated industry
• Preferred professional certification, such as Six Sigma, Project Management, Certified Corporate Compliance Professional (CCEP)
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and training purposes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to deadlines.
• Critical thinking skills to assess and improve compliance practices.
• Background in construction or related industries is a plus.
