    Description

    The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). The ideal candidate has significant experience in AP, strong AR knowledge, and familiarity with Costpoint or similar ERP systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Accounts Payable (AP): Process and reconcile vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and resolve discrepancies.

    + Accounts Receivable (AR): Support invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.

    + Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, maintaining records, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.

    + Track and analyze financial data related to government contracts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

    + Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    + 3+ years of Accounts Payable (AP) experience.

    + 1+ years of Accounts Receivable (AR) experience.

    + Sound understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP) and government compliance requirements.

    + Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

    + High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with Costpoint ERP software.

    + Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    + Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
