    About the Role

     

    As a **Sterile Processing Tech II** , you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing medical instruments and supplies for patient care. You will play a vital role in infection control and patient safety by ensuring all equipment meets the highest industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities** **:

    • **Decontamination & Sterilization** : Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment per AAMI standards.

    • **Instrument Preparation** : Inspect, assemble, and wrap surgical trays and equipment for use.

    • **Inventory Management** : Maintain supply levels and ensure timely distribution to patient care areas.

    • **Equipment Handling** : Operate specialized medical sterilization equipment safely and efficiently.

    • **Patient Support** _(Cedar Falls location only)_ : Transport patients and assist nursing staff with pre-operative procedures.

    What You Need to Succeed

    • **Education** : High school diploma or GED required. Specialized training in sterile processing preferred.

    • **Experience** : Minimum 6 months of experience working with surgical instruments or patient care support.

    • **Skills & Knowledge** :

    + Familiarity with medical terminology and sterilization techniques.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize urgent requests.

    + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.• **Certifications** : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to **25 lbs** ; push/pull up to **150 lbs** .

    • Exposure to sterilization equipment, potential infectious materials, and a high-paced hospital setting.

    • Must be comfortable working under pressure and following strict safety protocols.
