Job Description:

The Nurse Residency Program offers a structured and supportive environment for new nurses to develop their skills and transition smoothly into their professional careers. The program coincides with the unit you are hired into.

Education Qualifications:

Overview:

+ **Target audience:** Newly licensed nurses or soon to be RNs with less than 1 year of experience.

+ **Goal:** To support new graduate nurses in their transition from novice nurse to competent nurse through professional development.

+ **Length:** 1 year program

+ **Shifts:** 0.7-0.8 FTE working Day/Night (some 12-hour shifts or D/E availability)

Eligibility:

+ Current nursing student **OR**

+ Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program **OR**

+ Starting first RN position with Essentia Health within one year of graduation.

Required Qualifications:

+ Nursing license in state of employment.

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

**Shift Start/End:** 0700, 1500, 2300/1530, 0730, 2230

**Hours Per Pay Period:** 56-72

**FTE:** 1

**Weekends:** Yes - every other
