Description

We are looking for a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Addison, Illinois. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in managing all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and collaborating with the Head Bookkeeper to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records using double-entry bookkeeping principles.

• Prepare and post journal entries for a variety of financial transactions.

• Reconcile bank statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy.

• Oversee accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and expense tracking.

• Manage accounts receivable tasks such as invoicing, collections, and account monitoring.

• Generate financial reports and statements, including profit and loss summaries.

• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.

• Prepare and manage financial data for corporate and government reporting requirements.

• Collaborate with the Head Bookkeeper to ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards.

• Support general office duties and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and a solid understanding of debits and credits.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as Open Systems, QuickBooks, or Sage.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
