Position Overview
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in managing the company’s corporate accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the month-end close process. This hands-on position is ideal for someone with at least 2+ years of corporate accounting experience who is looking to deepen their knowledge and grow within a stable, forward-thinking organization.
+ Manage and prepare accruals as part of the month, quarter and year-end close processes.
+ Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial accounts.
+ Assist with the preparation of financial statements by applying standardized corporate accounting practices.
+ Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
+ Contribute to accounting operations, including journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
+ Monitor and enforce adherence to GAAP, SOX and internal reporting standards.
+ Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data reporting.
+ Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, contributing to a culture of learning and excellence.
Requirements
+ Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
+ Experience: At least 2 years of experience in corporate accounting or public/private blend.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of accrual-based accounting is essential.
