    The Logistics and Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the movement of recreational vehicles (RVs) and related inventory across the company’s network. This role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of RVs from manufacturers to dealerships, as well as the transportation and dispatch between dealership locations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of transportation, dispatch, logistics, and the ability to manage relationships with third party vendors, drivers, and internal stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    Logistics Coordination

     

    + Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of RVs to dealerships.

    + Plan and manage the transportation schedule, optimizing routes and reducing costs while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.

    + Oversee the distribution of inventory, ensuring proper movement to handle dealership demands.

     

    Vendor and Dispatch Management

     

    + Establish and maintain relationships with shipping companies, working with inventory accounting to audit rates and terms., scheduling and dispatching of RV units for each individual profit center.

    + Oversee the coordination

    + Monitor carrier performance, addressing any issues related to delays, damages, or inefficiencies.

     

    Fleet and Driver Oversight

     

    + Manage the company’s transportation fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and operationally efficient.

    + Recruit, train, and supervise drivers, ensuring adherence to safety standards and company policies.

    + Monitor driver performance, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions as needed.

     

    Compliance and Risk Management

     

    + Ensure vendor compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT requirements.

    + Coordinate lot counts with individual corporate profit centers, and holding yards.

    + Develop and enforce safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure the safe handling of RVs.

    + Manage insurance claims related to transportation incidents, working with relevant departments and insurers.

     

    Cost and Performance Optimization

     

    + Analyze logistics data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.

    + Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, delivery accuracy, and overall logistics performance.

    + Collaborate with other departments, and third party vendors to forecast transportation needs and adjust plans accordingly.

    + Develop and implement work processes that align with company thresholds and objectives to ensure operational excellence

    + Set and maintain employee schedules. Monitor and approve employee timecards in compliance with company policies.

    + Establish and communicate clear expectations for team performance, aligning goals with business priorities.

    + Communication skills, ability to update and manage inventory logs and create graphs and charts are necessities for position

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in the RV or automotive industry.

    + Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.

     

    Skills and Competencies

     

    + Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.

    + Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.

    + Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

    + Strong communication and leadership abilities.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
