    CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Technical Engineer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

     

    **Location:** Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE (hybrid remote)

    **Duration:** 18 months

    Overview:

    + Provides technical solutions, designs, documentation, and guidance.

    + Specifies solutions and delivers technical direction at the highest level for the development and deployment of new or existing technical solutions.

    + Works across multiple teams and interacts with business partners to create forward-thinking and scalable systems.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Work closely with Technology management, customers, and support teams to design, develop, and implement technical solutions that meet or exceed business needs.

    + Lead infrastructure architecture and design efforts, research and develop new or expanded systems, and create technology standards and policies.

    + Conduct thorough analysis of user requirements and operational constraints, develop unit tests, and lead system integration and user acceptance testing.

    + Regularly and independently interact with business partners of varying associate and management levels to ensure clarity of requirements and estimate project size and effort.

    + Coordinate vendor interactions and manage vendor relationships and contracts as needed.

    + Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, technicians, and integrators; review their documentation, proposals, and technical changes.

    + Expand knowledge of Financial Services industry trends, practices, and technologies continuously.

    + Promote and follow industry best practices, standards, and procedures.

    + Maintain expert-level knowledge of supporting applications, development environments, client environments, vendor products, and services.

    + Assist with developing expense and capital budgets.

    + Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.

    + Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment reflective of the client's brand.

    + Maintain internal control standards and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    + Lead complex, high-impact initiatives requiring strong technical expertise, business acumen, and cross-team coordination.

    + Influence the organization's technology strategy and operational efficiency.

    Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

    + None; individual contributor role with mentoring responsibilities for less experienced staff.

    Education and Experience Required:

    + Combined minimum of 12 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture.

    + Thorough understanding of system development and infrastructure lifecycle, IT Service Management, systems design, and vendor best practices.

    + Expertise in:

    + **Ansible**

    + **Azure and Terraform**

    + **Kubernetes**

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

    + Minimum of 12 years of advanced experience in infrastructure design technologies, data management, and system development.

    + Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured, high-quality technical implementations.

    + Experience developing alternative solutions and making sound recommendations.

    + Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

    + Verifiable industry and/or vendor expertise in relevant technologies.

    + Strong client-facing skills to gather, document, and analyze system specifications and requirements.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

    + Expertise in facilitation skills and stakeholder management.

    + Deep understanding of organizational interactions between people, processes, and technology.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Strong influencing and process-oriented thinking skills.

    + Solid knowledge of server/client and virtualization technologies.

    + Experience with project estimation and budget planning activities.

    + Adaptable and capable of learning quickly in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
