    Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a _Project Scheduler_ to join our Planning, Engineering, and Construction team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power.     What does a Project Scheduler do for us?

     

    They develop and maintain master schedules for design, construction, operations, and maintenance resources. They provide strategic resource information from an enterprise-wide perspective for executive planning and decision-making.

    A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

    Knowledge of:

    + Project management techniques, scheduling theory including Critical Path Method (CPM), and integration of scheduling best practices

    + Enterprise resource planning and analysis tools

    + Cross-project reporting

    + Project template management

    Preferred:

    + Utility construction techniques, equipment, systems, operations, and materials management

    + Utility design and maintenance techniques

    Skills in:

    + Use of personal computers and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, SAP, or similar

    + Microsoft Office and related software

    + Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills

    Preferred:

    + Use of Microsoft Project Server and PowerBI

    Ability to:

    + Manage several projects at one time with frequent interruptions

    + Communicate effectively to gather project information and to disseminate project schedule information

    + Anticipate and mitigate problems

    + Work with a wide variety of personality types and situations throughout the company

    + Learn and become proficient with work management, inventory, and financial software such as PassPort, PeopleSoft, CLRIS, and ProClarity

    Preferred:

    + Lead group discussions and provide group training on scheduling

    + Read feeder and transmission maps

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    + Bachelor's degree in business management with an emphasis in operations or production management, industrial engineering, construction management

    OR

    + An equivalent combination of education and experience

    Preferred:

    + Master's degree in construction management or related field

    Experience:

    + 2 years in enterprise resource scheduling

    OR

    + 5 years of individual resource scheduling

    Preferred:

    + 5 years of enterprise resource scheduling

    Licenses & Certifications:

    + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. This job may require the performance of additional tasks assigned by company leaders or management.     ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Job requires occasional travel including some overnight stays and the ability to work flexible hours. In addition, this position requires the ability to perform occasional field visits which will require work in an outdoor environment on uneven terrain and in all types of extreme weather conditions; work in and around energized stations and within the proximity of extreme high voltage (EHV) equipment; occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds such as files, laptop PCs, and AV equipment; and work for long periods of time using a keyboard and computer monitor.
