    JMT’s Geospatial department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.) balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects related to surveying, mapping and Subsurface Utility Engineering.

     

    Position Summary: Responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey/SUE projects.

     

    This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

     

    + Knowledge of LiDAR, Photogrammetry and/or surveying

    + Experience with Data extraction

    + Attention to detail

    + Strong work ethic

    + Analyzes raw data and identify problems

     

    Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

     

    + Perform other related duties as assigned

    Required SkillsRequired Experience

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Extensive knowledge in map development and DEM’s

    + Familiarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting, including MicroStation and AutoCAD

    Preferred Experience

    + Ability to setup, plan, and operate terrestrial LiDAR

    + Part 107

    + Open roads Designer or AutoCAD experience

    + TopoDOT experience

    + Experience with point cloud processing and extraction

     

    Working Conditions

     

    Work is performed within a general office environment 75% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

     

    Field work is required 25% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
