Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of this position includes but is not limited to:
+ Operate equipment such as mowers, blowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, and utility vehicles to perform landscape and turf maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report issues to the Field Lead.
+ Assist with bed preparation, and install and maintain plant material (annuals, perennials, bulbs, sod, trees, shrubs) according to the Field Lead’s instructions.
+ Assist with the installation of sod and seeding for turf areas.
+ Perform work duties in compliance with established safety practices and policies.
+ Maintain neat work sites, vehicles, and equipment.
+ Assist with debris and leaf removal as well as sanitation tasks.
+ Proactively report significant events such as safety concerns, accidents, equipment damage, or missed assignments to the Field Lead.
+ Collaborate with other team members as needed and communicate effectively with the campus community.

Required Qualifications:
+ Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and the general public, and comprehend verbal and written instructions regarding work assignments and related matters.
Experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 6 months of commercial landscaping experience
Required license or certification:
Valid driver’s license required. North Carolina driver’s license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
