    Hennepin Healthcare is hiring a *Staff Nurse*(0.6 FTE: 3 days/week, 8 hour shifts) to join our Pediatrics clinic in downtown Minneapolis to work day shift.

     

    /**This position is currently Monday-Friday day hours but may expand to include evenings and weekends as we grow./

     

    A sign-on bonus is available for eligible external candidates (current employees and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).

    *RESPONSIBILITIES*

    Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:

    * Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health

    * Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care

    * Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response

    * Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others

    * Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care

    * Educating patient on their disease process

    * Assuring continuity of care

    * Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being

    *Pediatric Nurse Responsibilities*

    * Partnering, communicating, and educating patient’s parents and/or guardians in all steps of the process

    * Triage work done in collaboration with provider and or support staff for immediate resolution. Triaging can be completed in person, telephonic or electronically

    * Providing direct patient facing care to include rooming, completion of wellness visits, EKS, spirometry, immunizations and injections and adherence to standing orders

    *QUALIFICATIONS*

    * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

    * Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

    * Certification in area of clinical specialty

    * One year of clinical pediatric experience

    * Prior ambulatory experience

    * BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
