Job Title: TIG Welder/Fabricator
Job Description
Join our team as a TIG Welder/Fabricator on the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm, Monday through Friday. In this role, you will utilize a variety of tools for fabricating, welding, assembly, and finishing of handrail systems in a custom weld/fab shop. This dynamic position requires flexibility as you will work across multiple departments, not solely welding but also fabricating and assembling.
Responsibilities
+ Measure, layout, cut, fit, join, and fabricate stainless steel railing systems using appropriate measurement and welding techniques.
+ Read and interpret shop drawings, project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform all elements of fabrication of high-end architectural stainless steel railings and components.
+ Operate welding equipment to produce quality TIG welds in stainless steel while working in horizontal and vertical positions.
+ Grind and polish stainless steel materials to required finish specifications.
+ Operate metalworking equipment including saws, drill presses, punch presses, bar and pipe benders, brakes, grinders, and polishers, along with a variety of portable and hand tools.
+ Perform detailed quality checks to verify the accuracy of manufactured products against fabrication drawings and details, ensuring all standards and requirements are met.
+ Utilize knowledge of machinery and equipment, mathematics, and other physical sciences to complete fabrication as necessary.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with TIG and MIG welding.
+ Proficiency in using band saws, drill presses, assembly, fabrication, and polishing equipment.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols.
+ Competence in using a tape measure, caliper, protractor, and related tools.
+ Understanding of basic algebra and geometry, and both metric and imperial systems of measurement.

Work Environment
The work environment consists of CNC operators and welder/fabricators. The shop, overseen by the manufacturing supervisor and the VP of Operations, has approximately 30 employees working across 1st and 2nd shifts. The 2nd shift is smaller with about 6-7 welders. The areas of work are divided into welder fabricating, machining, and general labor/assembly departments. Teamwork is highly valued, and employees are expected to follow feedback, show urgency in task completion, maintain good attendance, and work well as part of a team. The dress code includes work pants, t-shirt, and steel toe boots or sneakers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of COLUMBIA, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
