Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) will support remediation work that includes construction tasks such as clearing and grubbing, installation of erosion control materials, soil excavation, grading, dewatering, backfilling, truck scaling, equipment decontamination, and restoration efforts. The primary role is to operate construction equipment such as Excavators, Backhoes/Loaders, Dozers, Skid-Steers, and Roller Compactors. Equipment operation will comprise 75% of the job, with the remaining 25% dedicated to general labor tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Operate heavy construction equipment such as Excavators, Dozers, Backhoes, Bobcats, Rollers, and Compactors.
+ Perform construction tasks including clearing, grubbing, and soil excavation.
+ Install erosion control materials and engage in grading and dewatering.
+ Conduct backfilling, truck scaling, and equipment decontamination.
+ Participate in restoration efforts and support general labor tasks when equipment is not in use.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 8 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, bobcats, rollers, and compactors.
+ Previous construction or civil experience with outdoor work and moving dirt.
+ Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred but not required.
+ Experience in environmental operations is beneficial.

Work Environment
This role involves outdoor construction work, exposing you to various weather conditions, including extreme heat and potential cold. Be prepared to work in wet conditions and embrace a dirty, outdoor working environment. Dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans without holes, and a shirt with sleeves. The position requires working Monday through Friday with start times ranging from 5-7 am for 10-12 hour days. Saturday work is possible, and when working out of town, expect to work 50-60+ hours per week. A minimum of a 40-hour work week with 10-20 hours of overtime is expected.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
