    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The Lab Technician will be responsible for processing lab samples, diluting samples for ICP, running visual checks, and programming the ICP computer. Additionally, the technician will run samples for FTIR, select the correct reference oil, and establish computer transfer of data. The role also involves completing visual notes on coolant, fuel, and oil samples, assisting in running daily verification samples, handling rush samples, and maintaining lab equipment in good condition. This position offers comprehensive training on all lab stations, including ICP, IR, GC, viscosity, particle count, and sample sorting/preparation.

    Responsibilities

    + Process lab samples

    + Dilute samples for ICP, run visual checks, and program ICP computer

    + Run samples for FTIR, select correct reference oil, and establish computer transfer of data

    + Complete visual notes on coolant, fuel, and oil samples

    + Assist in running daily verification samples and handling rush samples

    + Maintain lab equipment in good condition

    + Prepare and process samples

    + Pick up samples from various parts of the facility

    + Understanding of lab guidelines and client specifications

    + Data analysis and accurate recording of lab notes

    + Ability to work in a deadline-driven production environment

    Work Environment

    The lab team consists of less than 10 people, led by a supportive and engaging leader who values continuous learning and skill development. The dress code in the lab is casual, with close-toe shoes, jeans, and t-shirts being acceptable. A lab coat is provided to protect against potential sample spills. The role involves a repetitive and industrial laboratory setting, with a focus on teamwork and consistent communication to meet sample deadlines. The lab processes 1000-1100 samples per day, requiring effective re-prioritization and division of duties. The work environment can be busy and noisy, particularly when picking up samples from the production area. The assigned shift is Monday to Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, with a rotation to the ICP station once every five weeks, changing the shift to 8am - 4:30pm.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
