    Description of Work Unit

    Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.

     

    The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Colorado State University is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Extensive classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. Affiliated with CSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy ( MFT ) Program, the Center for Family and Couple Therapy ( CFCT ), and the CSU Trauma and Resilience Assessment Center ( CTRAC ) in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, the newly formed Family Resilience Center ( FRC ) at Spur will serve as a local, state, and regional child trauma assessment, treatment, and training center.

    Position Summary

    The CFCT is a community-based therapy center staffed by graduate students studying to become Marriage and Family Therapists. Grad students who are seeing clients as a part of their practicum and internship experiences are required to be supervised by licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. This position supervises five to seven graduate students between 3 and 5 hours per week in either a live behind-the-mirror format or case note/video review format.

    Required Job Qualifications

    + Must have a minimum of a master’s in Human Development and Family Studies, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field, and be licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field.

    + Must be eligible for AAMFT Supervisor credential.

    Preferred Job Qualifications

    + Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate in American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy ( AAMFT ).

    + Provide live and written feedback to supervisees.

    + Be available by phone, when possible, in emergency situations.

    + Review and sign client forms and paperwork.

    + Provide evaluation of students to MFTC .
