Position Summary...
What you'll do...
The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs across assigned facilities to ensure the functionality, safety, and aesthetics of building systems and equipment. This role combines hands-on technical work with coordination of maintenance schedules and vendor activities, while supporting compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and fixtures by following maintenance plans, inspecting and repairing components, and documenting maintenance activities.
+ Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and material handling systems; dismantle and repair or replace defective parts as needed.
+ Manage and complete repair work orders, track maintenance logs, order parts, and ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards.
+ Oversee and support junior maintenance associates by providing technical guidance, training, and onsite supervision to ensure effective skill development and job completion.
+ Coordinate with contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with Walmart standards, safety regulations, and contract terms.
+ Provide prompt responses to emergency maintenance calls and participate in hands-on problem solving during service disruptions.
+ Monitor budget-related activities including price comparisons, expense tracking, warranty claims, and capital repair recommendations.
+ Ensure OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance while maintaining records of all activities.
+ Foster strong working relationships across departments, sharing best practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
+ Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed).
+ Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related hands-on maintenance role required.
+ Background in construction, electrical work, or a technical trade is strongly preferred.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of maintenance issues.
+ Handy and self-sufficient, with experience in a similar role or environment.
+ Comfortable using basic tools, repair equipment, and digital maintenance systems.
+ Professional communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00-$40.00*
*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
Valid Driver's License.
Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
1 year’s experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
