Job Title: Logistics Procurement Manager – Transportation North America
Summary:The Logistics Procurement Manager – Transportation NA reports to the Global Director, Logistics Procurement. This individual will manage the NA Bulk Truck, Rail, Full Truckload (FTL) & Less than Truckload (LTL), Parcel, container and ISO drayage, and Warehouse logistics procurement responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:
Procurement Management:
+ Manage procurement activities for a logistics spend of approximately $41M with over 85 logistics service providers. This role will support all the US Momentive sites (Waterford, NY, Friendly, WV, Garrett, IN, Texas City, TX, Pasadena, TX, Milan, IL, Pearl River, NY and Huntersville, NC)
+ Utilize E-Bid technology for NA freight RFPs and drive improved logistics performance using a TMS and SAP.
+ Align strategies of logistics procurement with Momentive Logistics Operations team and Directors across business and Integrated Supply Chain. Support implementation of mode/carrier changes.
+ Managing logistics procurement for various transportation modes.
Performance Improvement:
+ Drive logistics initiatives to achieve annual productivity targets of 5% of overall spend.
+ Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiencies and increase sustainability.
+ Possess analytical skills to identify lowest cost carrier options in complex pricing arrangements. Balancing cost with service requirements.
+ Participate in the Momentive Procurement Team’s internal training sessions and/or process champion or steward.
+ Driving overall transportation logistics performance improvement in cost, service, capacity, and routing guide compliance across NA.
Supplier Management:
+ Manage supplier performance and escalations. Developing incumbent suppliers to meet Momentive’s requirements or identifying a suitable replacement
+ Support the Momentive Quality Team to implement carrier scorecards
+ Leading supplier implementations and logistics projects.
Strategic Planning:
+ Develop and present annual procurement plans and quarterly deep dives for multiple transportation logistics modes.
+ Stay current with industry trends and provide guidance to business units.
+ Negotiating contracts and managing core supplier relationships.
+ Collaborating with Momentive’s NA Transportation Management (TMS) provider (Odyssey Logistics) to maintain electronic routing guides for all managed modes, ensuring rates are on file to generate freight accruals and overseeing the freight tender process.
+ Developing and executing mode procurement strategies and plans.
+ Completes other duties as assigned
Travel: Up to 25%
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
+ 5+years of relevant logistics procurement experience, including operations management, planning, and logistics
+ Experience with chemical industry products and services, including hazardous materials shipping.
+ Knowledge of supply chain technologies, including ERP, data warehouse, and transportation management systems.
The following are preferred for this position
+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical and financial data.
+ 5+ years of procurement experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
+ Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $81,000 - $118,800
The actua l salary offered i s determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill set s, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable . Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
