*This position is located at the District 2 Bemidji Headquarters and may have the flexibility to telework up to 50% of the time. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
This position will work as a part of a team to ensure that highway construction and maintenance projects are developed in an environmentally sensitive manner by evaluating the risk for environmental impacts and preparing or reviewing documents to determine compliance with local, state and federal requirements. They will also assist the water resources and environmental engineer and other project managers related to environmental concerns.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of professional experience in water resources, environmental science (or closely related field.)
OR
Three years of technical experience in water resources, environmental science (or closely related field.)
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Water Resources, Environmental Science, or closely related field substitutes for one (1) year of professional experience
**Successful candidates must also demonstrate on their resume** :
• Knowledge of Federal and Minnesota environmental laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
• Background writing environmental documents on issues such as wetlands and other natural resources
• Knowledge of wetland delineation principles, wetland permit requirements and wetland conservation
• Valid Class D driver’s license or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Environmental Science (or closely related field)
• Experience making maps in GIS applications
• Experience using software such as Microsoft Excel to organize tables and data
• Experience with CADD software
• Wetland Delineation Certification
