    Hours: Mon-Fri. 7:30am - 4:00pm

     

    Pay Rate: $20.00 p/hr

    OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES :

    A Maintenance Tech is responsible for keeping the facilities, and equipment, safely operating and repairing any problems that are identified through work orders. This position will handle a variety of different issues as it covers everything from residential housing and apartments, HVAC units, carpentry, electrical and plumbing etc.

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

    + A successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills and will be responsible for the safe upkeep of a facility, such as all Access houses or admin offices.

    + Must be able to safely handle and work with tools, must be skilled in a variety of areas including light plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and light electrical systems. Landscaping and snow removal skills are also required.

    + Duties also include responsible for assigned work orders from start to completion, inspecting houses and admin buildings, maintaining inventory of tools equipment, supplies, responsible for scheduling repairs, work in a collaborative manner as part of the site team when necessary.

    + Responsible for snow cleanup in the winter months, mowing grass in the spring and fall. Must have the ability to safely operate motorized equipment such as snow removal or other equipment as trained and assigned.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

    This position will support other departments in their requests for building/moving/transferring office furniture and/or equipment.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES :

    + Minimum 5 years’ experience in safe general maintenance and in a maintenance specialty.

    + Must have a valid driver’s License.

    + Specialize in one or more trade, (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, etc.)

    + Understand basic safety principles when trouble shooting mechanical, electrical or plumbing issues.

    + Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles.

    + Can safely handle painting and landscaping assignments to the standards of the agency.

     

    Must possess willingness to improve skill set through informal apprenticeship and training.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

    + Minimum 5 years’ experience in general maintenance and in a maintenance specialty.

    + Must be capable to sit or stand for long-periods of time

    + Must be able to twist to reach equipment surrounding desk;

    + Must be able to talk, see and hear with sufficient acuity to successfully perform all aspects of the job;

    + Must perform simple grasping or fine manipulation;

    + Must be able to use a telephone and have some computer knowledge.

    + Must be capable to move throughout work day

    + Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet

    + Must be able to move in tight spaces

    + Occasional lifting of > _50+pounds
