    Position Summary :

    The Central Supply Associate has the responsibility to assist in the procurement, preparation, processing, and distribution of sterile and disposable supplies, utensils, and various equipment throughout the facility.

    Qualifications & Education Required:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent certificate of completion

    + Valid NYS driver’s license

    + Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services

    + Willingness to embrace and exemplify St. John’s Brand Characteristics

    Position Competencies

    + Passes on information to co-workers with clarity

    + Maintains confidentiality when requested

    Position Responsibilities

    + Orders directly or prepares and submits requisitions to Purchasing Department for replacement of stock as determined by inventory and needs of nursing units

    + Collects, cleans, processes, and distributes equipment and supplies throughout the facility

    + Coordinates and tracks use of specialty equipment

    + Stocks inventory to par level on each Nursing Unit as requested

    + Rotate stock and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment

    + Makes changes in inventory level to meet current demand

    + Assumes responsibility for attending in service programs that are provided to facilitate compliance with government regulations

    + Provides preventative maintenance for selected equipment and prepared equipment for repair and maintenance to be shipped to an outside vendor

    + Provides back up as needed to purchasing Associate and Business Office with regards to mail and banking runs

    + Physical Requirements

    + Walking, running, lifting as much as 50 lbs, pushing as much as 250lbs, climbing stairs
