Job Title: Material Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Material Technician for B Shift and C Shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability and proper handling of materials needed to keep work centers running efficiently, including the use of regrind materials when acceptable. This role involves collaboration with the setup team to prepare for upcoming jobs, verifying material availability, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

+ Understand the materials/items running on each work center and ensure all necessary materials are available.

+ Collaborate with the setup team to prepare for upcoming jobs and verify material availability.

+ Properly remove, identify, clean, and store remaining materials after job completion.

+ Prepare work centers for the next job setup by working with the Shift Supervisor.

+ Ensure materials are in the dryer and dried on time.

+ Stage all raw materials needed at the work center, including raw materials, purchased components, and WIP.

+ Fill color feeders and ensure the work center is properly set up for the next job after the current job is completed.

+ Empty and clean hoppers at the press and dryers.

+ Clean material line feeds between jobs if necessary.

+ Set up appropriate grinders at the work center and recycle into the current job running when possible.

+ Remove and properly store materials, weigh, apply new labels, scan into IQMS, and return to proper storage locations.

+ Collect scrap and purge material from work centers, label properly, and move to the proper scrap location.

+ Mix, batch, and/or blend material for production.

+ Maintain a clean and organized raw material area.

+ Coordinate with the supervisor to address work center issues that affect material handling functions.

+ Unload material from trucks, verify contents of packing slips, and turn them into Receiving.

+ Cycle count raw materials and packaging supplies, and assist in inventory control.

+ Support operator breaks and lunches.

Essential Skills

+ 3 years of experience in the injection molding industry.

+ 1+ years of raw material handling experience.

+ Experience handling resins, raw materials, cycle counts, and lifting 60 lbs+.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Machine setup and plastic injection molding experience.

+ Quality assurance and stage cleanup skills.

+ Experience with grinders.

Work Environment

Work in a plastic injection automotive plant that is relatively clean for an automotive facility. Please note that the environment is non-temperature controlled and can be loud.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Saline, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $37440.00/yr.
