    Responsibilities:

    + Builds and maintains strong working relationships internally and externally through accountability, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.

    + Promotes a respectful, inclusive culture by recognizing cultural differences and encouraging healthy, professional peer interactions.

    + Applies research and evidence-based practices to clinical decision-making and care planning.

    + Experience: 2+ years of RN experience required; ED/pre-hospital preferred.

    + Knowledge and Skills: Must demonstrate knowledge of patient care and appropriate interactions based on patient age

    + Growth & Development: Understanding of principles of growth and development across the lifespan and ability to assess and interpret age-specific needs.

    + Relationship Building: Ability to establish positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, support staff, and patients/families.

    + Clinical Judgment: Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in patient care.

    + Physical Requirements: Mobility, visual manual dexterity, and physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning patients.

    + Flexible Shifts: UPMC offers flexible shift options, including night and weekend shifts with premium pay. Employees must have at least 6 months of nursing experience to qualify for these programs. Alert Recruiter: If interested in flexible shift options, notify your recruiter during the interview.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Current RN License

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) w/in 1 year of hire

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC) w/in 60 days of hire

    + NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) w/in 6 months of hire

    + Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) w/in 1 year of hire

    + Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
