Hamilton College seeks a compassionate and experienced Director of Counseling and Psychological Services to lead and manage its mental health support services. This individual will oversee the strategic direction, administration, and delivery of counseling and psychological services for students. The Director will work collaboratively with campus partners to foster a holistic and inclusive approach to student well-being and mental health.
This is an exempt position with a pay range of $125,000 - $145,000.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Leadership & Administration: Provide visionary leadership for Counseling and Psychological Services, including staff supervision, budget management, and policy development.
+ Clinical Oversight: Ensure high-quality, culturally competent mental health services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation.
+ Staff Supervision & Development: Recruit, train, and manage a team of licensed mental health professionals, interns, and support staff. Provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
+ Crisis Response: Oversee crisis intervention services and collaborate with campus partners to address urgent student mental health concerns.
+ Campus Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, Community Living, Health Services, and other departments to promote mental health initiatives and integrate counseling services into student life.
+ Outreach & Prevention: Develop and implement mental health awareness programs, workshops, and training for students, faculty, and staff.
+ Compliance & Accreditation: Ensure compliance with ethical standards, legal requirements, and best practices in college mental health services.
+ Education: Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
+ Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in New York State.
+ Experience: At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in college mental health services or a related setting. Previous leadership or administrative experience preferred.

+ Strong leadership and team management skills.
+ Expertise in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and case management.
+ Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health service delivery.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
+ Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including FERPA and HIPAA.
