JOB SUMMARY
The Shop Technician has primary responsibility for EMCO an AFC Industries Company, This important position is a hands-on role that requires in-depth knowledge of building electrical control cabinets and mechanical sub-assemblies. Aside from electro-mechanical solutions, they will need to know, or learn, how to build Hydraulic and Pneumatic panels and assemblies.
As the Shop Technician, they are responsible for all technical and administrative tasks associated with equipment builds and quality control. The Shop Tech will assist in coordinating with sales and operations to meet delivery schedules and profitability goals. Key attributes of the ideal candidate are leading by example, team player, accountable, strong communications, enjoy solving problems, and stays calm under pressure.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Review labor and available hours for new Production Orders
+ Coordinate shop personnel for production
+ Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
+ Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards
+ Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, & Instrumentation
+ Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
+ Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
+ Problem-solve technical issues
+ Inspect orders when they are complete
+ Maintain shop tools and supplies and perform other duties as assigned or as needed
CORE COMPETENCIES

+ Strong organizational skills
+ Ability to learn hydraulic and pneumatic skills
+ Basic computer skills, experience with MS Office, ERP, Scheduling Tools are a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
+ **1-3 years of electrical control panel assembly and hydraulic experience.**
+ **Strong background in Point to Point and Functional Testing**
+ **Ability to understand and work from technical schematics**
+ Have or Learn Basic computer skills: MS Office, ERP, Scheduling Tools
+ High School Graduate or equivalent - related Technical Degree a Plus
+ Ability to lift 50lbs and all physical requirements associated with Panel Building
Position: Full-time
Work Hours: Monday-Thursday, 5:30AM-3:30PM
Pay Rate: $22-28/hour, depending upon experience
