    MAINTENANCE ELECTRICAL TEAM LEADER

    Position Summary

    As Team Leader, you are responsible for managing a team up to 3 people while performing the delivery of services. Our clients trust us to provide quality services and you are key in helping us live out our values every day. You are a proactive leader and self-starter who can interact with the public and our employees. You have a strong work ethic and can manage time to effectively meet deadlines. You have experience in mowing and previous supervisory experience, as well as proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers

     

    The Maintenance Electrical Team Leader responsibility is to maintain, upgrade, and repair existing electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, generators, and electronic controllers on machine tools and industrial robots. The incumbent shall achieve these objectives by performing the following duties and responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Managing and developing the maintenance team under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

    + Responsible for directing their team in daily assigned jobs.

    + Make tactical decisions based on situational conflicts and machine priorities.

    + Delegate jobs to their team members to meet the needs of the company.

    + Installs electrical equipment: sizing conduit, sizing conductors, installing/bending conduit, wire pulling, panel and field terminating, control panel building, and tying in to plant power.

    + Installs electrical systems ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC.

    + Repairs complex electrical equipment, including automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, drives, and alarms.

    + Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, detects and replaces defective components.

    + Provides technical assistance to lower-level Maintenance Associates.

    + Operates electrical hand tools and measuring devices.

    + Works from blueprints, drawings, sketches or schematics.

    + Working knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment used.

    + Working knowledge of programmable controllers, and related programming software.

    + Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment and performs routine, scheduled designated preventive maintenance.

    + Discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose equipment problems.

    + Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.

    + Additional duties as requested by management.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive and positive, with internal and external customers and coworkers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

     

    Education and/or Experience

     

    Associates degree from a college or technical school in Electrical; four plus years related experience in an industrial setting and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman card preferred.

     

    Language Skills

     

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals including metric.

     

    Reasoning Ability

     

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

    Technical Skills

    + Advanced knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair, and maintenance is required.

    + Knowledge of Visual Basic or programming languages a plus.

    + Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting

    + Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and systems is required.

    + Knowledge and use of test equipment such as multi-meters.

    + Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics.

    + Knowledge of TPM principles and practices.

    + Use and knowledge of inspection equipment such as calipers and micrometers.

    + Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Forklift operator and Michigan driver license required; Journeyman card preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 100 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/ or humid conditions, fumes or air borne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

    + Ability to work in conjunction with and support outside suppliers and contractors.

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    + Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.
