Job Overview
The Phase I Installer will be responsible for building and installing low voltage systems. Together with the field installation team, they will work on rough-in and trim phases of a project, including but limited to, terminating our proprietary QPS. They will contribute to installation tasks including wire separation, ring-out, and speaker installations. The phase I installer will work ensure accuracy of trim-out materials and review location schematics to verify that items will work as intended and designed on sites. They will collaborate with the phase I team lead, project managers, and lead technicians to navigate best practices for a project.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Perform installation tasks including wire trim, rough-in, wire separation, and ring-outs for projects.
• Assist in installation of speakers, brackets, shades, and lighting.
• Work alongside production team to act as a backup production technician during times of high volume.
• Coordinate with project manager to determine forecasting for materials following pre-wire of projects.
• Perform continuity and tone testing on all wires, provide applicable documentation for guidelines and raise any issues with wire separations to EENY standards.
• Install and test invisible speaker systems, ensuring that items are being completed to best practices and EENY standards.
• Test, terminate, and trim wiring for lighting, shades, speakers, and other equipment, handle 110 punch downs for projects.
• Maintain documentation and notes daily regarding project phases. Determine and report any issues, expected timelines, and coordination needs to project manager.
• Act as a backup field installer in times of high volume.
Job Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, ability to communicate, complete notes and paperwork electronically. CRM experience a plus.
• 3+ years' work experience in basic residential house construction with low-voltage wiring, AV, lighting, shades, or related industry; or degree from a technical institution, or college studying smart homes, low-voltage wiring, A/V, or related field along with 3-year work experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with electrical and/or low voltage infrastructure projects.
• OSHA 40 & SST certifications required.
• Working knowledge of low voltage test equipment and cable installation/routing.
• Ability to use all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
• Ability to interpret and understand information contained within blueprints, building floor plans, electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and test specifications.
• Ability to identify, solve, implement, and verify technical solutions autonomously and/or as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
