    Overview

     

    We are seeking aPatient Account Registrar (PAR),internally referred to as our Patient Access Representative or Patient Admissions Clerk, in the Admitting Department at Riverview Regional Medical Center (Gadsden, AL ), a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Patient Account Registrar you will iterview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics.

     

    Shift’s Available: Days

     

    Employment Type:Part Time

     

    Hours: Monday through Thursday: 7:30a - 1:00p, Friday: 7:30a - noon

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    + interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics

    + secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable

    + work closely with all facets of the Admitting Department, including PBX operator function and reception areas

    + must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data

    + able to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics

    + maintain proficiency in medical terminology

    + special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe

    + be available to work: Monday - Thursday: 7:30a - 1:00p, Friday: 7:30a - noon

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience

     

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

     

    + effective written and verbal communication skills

    + ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines

    + analytical and problem-solving skills

    + customer service experience

    + high school graduate or GED equivalent

    Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

    + previous hospital experience as an admission representative

    + knowledge of medical terminology
