    Basic Job Functions:

    The successful candidate will possess a basic knowledge of mechanical principles.

    Planned projects are listed, but not limited to:

    + Develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of industrial safety.

    + Work alongside Nucor Mechanics performing preventive and corrective maintenance

    + Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various hydraulic, pneumatic and power transmission control systems throughout the Rolling Mill & Melt shop

    + Fabrication and building projects

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Participation in a course of study in Mechanical Technology or equivalent

    + GPA of 3.0 or better in Mechanical Courses

    + Written recommendation from advisor

    + Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Completion of a safety course(s)

    + Practical work experience
