Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for a CPA with over 6 years of Big 4 public accounting experience, a deep understanding of ASC 606, and a strong foundation in revenue recognition.
The ideal candidate will drive accurate and timely revenue accounting, collaborate cross-functionally, and play a key role in process improvement and system implementations. This is a strategic role offering high visibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to shape best-in-class revenue operations.
Key Responsibilities
+ Own and manage the monthly and quarterly revenue close process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
+ Analyze and interpret complex revenue contracts to determine proper revenue treatment.
+ SOX controls, public company experience
+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue-related disclosures.
+ Partner with Legal, Sales, and FP& A to assess deal structures and revenue implications.
+ Lead the design and enhancement of revenue accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
+ Work closely with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
+ Contribute to ERP and revenue systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, RevPro).
+ Provide mentorship to junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Stay up to date with accounting pronouncements and industry trends related to revenue recognition
Requirements
• Proven experience in revenue accounting, including a deep understanding of ASC 606.
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and other related software.
• Previous experience working with external auditors in a public company environment.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex revenue contracts and transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team while managing competing priorities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and trends, particularly in revenue recognition.Qualifications
+ CPA required.
+ Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in Big 4 public accounting.
+ Extensive knowledge and hands-on application of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
+ Experience with high-growth companies, ideally in manufacturing
+ Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities; capable of working across departments.
+ Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP and revenue systems is a plus.
+ Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with IPO readiness or public company reporting.
+ Familiarity with tools like Oracle, NetSuite, Salesforce, RevPro, or similar revenue automation software.
+ Exposure to SOX/internal control environments.
