THE POSITION

We are seeking an HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of the HVAC and refrigeration systems of the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing all types of refrigeration, air conditioning, and other associated equipment. Your duties will involve detecting and repairing solenoid and thermostatic valves, locating and fixing refrigerant and oil leaks, replacing compressors, removing air and moisture from sealed systems, and charging refrigerant systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for working in the plumbing shop and installing and repairing domestic hot water systems, as well as participating in an asbestos removal program. To successfully carry out these tasks, you will need to have a good understanding of proper work methods, be familiar with specialized equipment, and always prioritize safety by following instructions. Your skills and expertise will be essential in providing quality service to consumers and maintaining the smooth operation of these systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Overtime and emergency call-ins as operationally necessary
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment;or
+ Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment.
Special Requirement:
+ You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.
