Position Overview
We are seeking a High School Science Teacher to deliver one-on-one, in-person instruction at Augustine Hills School. This role is ideal for educators looking for a part-time, flexible schedule and the opportunity to work one-on-one with students. You’ll work from a “skeleton” curriculum but have the autonomy to edit the lesson plans to make science fun with interactive and creative classroom experiments.
+ Provide personalized, one-on-one instruction in high school-level science subject(s).
+ Develop tailored lesson plans based on student needs and learning styles.
+ Create an engaging classroom experience that brings math concepts into real-life contexts.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of lessons, student progress, and grades on a weekly basis.
+ Collaborate with parents, educators, and administrators as needed.
+ Adjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differences.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years of high school science classroom teaching experience in any science subject (excluding student teaching or tutoring).
+ Bachelor’s degree required.
+ Experience creating lesson plans, documenting student progress, and assigning and recording grades on a weekly basis.
+ Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement and skill level.
+ Reliable transportation required; must be able to consistently report onsite to Wilmington, DE location for scheduled work hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Degree in Education or Science.
+ Experience teaching multiple science subjects to high school students
+ Teaching certification.
+ Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) or working with students who have learning differences.
