    **Sodexo's Campus Segment** is seeking an **Executive Chef 3** for **Central Connecticut State University** in **New Britain, CT** . This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the culinary experience on campus, from resident dining to high-profile catered events. We're looking for a dynamic culinary leader with strong campus or high-volume experience, a passion for mentoring teams, and a commitment to sustainable practices.

    What You'll Do

    + Lead all culinary operations across resident dining, retail, and catering, overseeing a team of chefs, purchasing, and catering managers.

    + Collaborate with clients and university leadership to design and deliver customized, innovative food experiences.

    + Drive consistency and excellence in food quality, presentation, safety, and sanitation across all outlets.

    + Manage food cost, purchasing compliance, inventory systems, and vendor relationships.

    + Support and oversee catering operations, collaborating closely with the Catering Executive Chef.

    + Train and develop staff with a focus on continuous improvement, culinary certifications (ACF), and foundational cooking skills.

    + Champion Sodexo standards, including sustainability initiatives, culinary innovation, and wellness-focused menus.

    What You Bring

    + Proven experience managing union and non-union teams in a high-volume setting.

    + Strong background in campus dining, hospitality, healthcare, government, or large-scale food service operations.

    + Ability to juggle multiple venues—two dining halls, one multi-station food court, a retail store, and large-scale catering.

    + A hands-on coach who spends time mentoring (5% hands-on cooking), with a calm, collaborative leadership style.

    + Financial savvy in managing food budgets and controlling food costs.

    Qualifications & Requirements

     

    Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

     

    Minimum Management Experience - 3 years

     

    Minimum Functional Experience - 3 yearswork experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
